How Hypnosis/Hypnotherapy works and why it can make a difference:
Hypnotherapy works when you are motivated for change. This could be anything from quitting a habit, overcoming heartbreak or dealing with anxiety.
You do not have to believe in hypnosis to find success, you just have to be willing to work with it and be committed to change.
When you are motivated to make a change, Hypnosis helps you at a much faster rate; it is like speed dial for change.
Hypnotherapy relaxes’ the “conscious mind,” which is 10% of your brain. It is the analytical, logical, planning, portion of your mind. It is the part of your brain that tells you “there is no way this will work.” I call it the “gatekeeper” it makes change more difficult.
Once you are relaxed in hypnosis and bypassed the conscious brain you enter 90% of your brain, called your “subconscious mind.” This is where your emotion, habits, memory, imagination, dreams, reflex actions and survival instincts are.
When you are dealing with the subconscious mind you are in the area of the brain that can influence your actions at a much faster, easier rate and is much more open to change.
Before you start hypnotherapy you will discuss the changes you want to make; a custom program is then designed based on your specific needs.
You will start a form of relaxation that allows you to deeply relax and visualize in greater detail to help you make the changes you need. It is similar to a very deep meditation; it is not a situation where someone is taking over your mind.
You receive a recording of the session that you listen to as you fall asleep at night. The recording continues to work on the subconscious mind to reinforce the changes; it also is very relaxing and helps you sleep better.
It will take multiple sessions to make the changes you require, the number depends on what you are trying to accomplish and how motivated you are to make the change. Each person is different, but you will start to notices some changes immediately.
An example of how it works with weight loss: We change the type of food you crave in your brain to healthy nutritious choices. You begin to desire only what is good for you and no longer enjoy the unhealthy food. Some people eat due to stress, loneliness or boredom; we change behavior habits in the subconscious mind to help with this.
You will notice after the very first session your desire for more nutritious healthy foods starts to change, but it can take up to 8 sessions for the average client to instill lifelong behavioral habits. Normally with weight loss, we also include the desire to exercise as well.
You receive suggestions on behavioral changes you can make on a conscious level that improves your overall quality of life.
